There are 2 types of islands you can visit when in Maldives. One is a Resort Island, and is probably the most known of the two... but, there's another island you can visit that will make your stay much cheaper. Since about 10 years ago, the Maldivian government has allowed local islands to have guest houses so tourists can come to stay there, so that now gives us a budget friendly option for staying in Maldives.
Redecorating your home can feel like a massive undertaking, especially when you include furniture into that overhaul. Oftentimes, furniture is the single most expensive category of your home’s possessions, although few of us think about protecting it from thieves or accident. When it’s time to redo a room, furniture is the biggest expense that you can expect.
However, if you can take some smart measures, you’ll find yourself able to cut way back on the expenses of refurnishing your home. Read on to learn more!
Our bucket list Lapland trip wasn't quite complete without a stop in Inari. We enjoyed the ice castle in Kemi, the spectacular Auroras at Northern Lights Village, and relaxed at the beautiful Aurora Village, but we still had to experience some of the Finland Culture in Inari.
The last leg of our trip was at Hotel Inari. We were excited to get there, because it would be the furthest North we were traveling to, so we were looking forward to an awesome Aurora show. And it did not disappoint.

If you’re wanting a relaxing, nature filled vacation in Lapland Finland, away from all the hustle and bustle of tourism, you have to check out Aurora Village. It is an awesome place in Ivalo, Finland, that is perfect for a Northern Lights adventure. Aurora Village has beautiful glass igloo cabins that make it a picture perfect place for your Aurora watching experience. It feels like your own serene getaway, and is very quiet around the grounds, but still offers everything you would want during your beautiful Lapland adventure.
If you were to imagine your perfect trip to Lapland in the winter, you would probably be imagining Northern Lights Village. I found my dream hotel in Saariselka, Finland, and never wanted to leave. Luckily for us, Northern Lights Village lived up to it’s name, and we saw a beautiful show of the Auroras.
We finally had some time off to take an awesome trip together, so B and I were talking about different trips we could take, and where we wanted to go. He threw out Finland, and I ran with it. We had seen the Northern Lights in Iceland about a year and a half before, but if you remember, those were the boring lights. We still wanted to see the magical green lights dancing in the sky. We had a small taste on our flight over to Iceland, but it just made me want to see them even more. So, we started planning our trip to Finland, and quickly decided we would spend our time in beautiful Lapland.
Let’s face it. Who wants to spend their time off spring cleaning? Wouldn’t it be better to spend that time binge watching another awesome series on Netflix? Yes, it would. Unfortunately, self-cleaning homes are still a thing of the future. Until we start to live like The Jetsons, we’ll still have to do the cleaning ourselves. Yes, it does indeed suck. Thankfully, there are ways to clean your home without missing too many hours of your free time.
Getting married is absolutely one of the happiest times and events of your entire life. Unfortunately, it’s also one of the most expensive. Unless your plan is to go the way of a simple courthouse wedding, you’ll find yourself with expenses that you didn’t even know were customary when it comes to weddings. There are so many things that go into a wedding that you don’t realize until you find yourself in the position of planning your wedding. A wedding dress, dresses for the bridal party, a tux, flowers, venue, catering, and drinks are just the beginning.
January has come and gone. Many new year goals have petered out by February, which is often expected by most people as they set their new years goal at the end of December. Just because January has ended, doesn’t mean that you can’t continue working on yourself and continuing to improve yourself and your life.
We're starting the New Year out with a bang...and a ROCK!!
A quick little backstory about the day...I had a photo shoot booked in the city (in Chicago), with a photographer that reached out to me through the blog. He was in town for the weekend, and asked if I was up to collaborate on a shoot. I get a lot of random inquiries from people reaching out to me on IG or the blog…but this photographer had some really nice shots, and the timing worked out, so I decided to do a collab with him. I thought it would be an awesome opportunity to get some nice shots of Bart and I in the city before he moves to California. So we set it up for January 1st, which was the only day we could actually make it out to the city, since Bart had to work the next couple days.
Why does it always seem that Prince Charming turns back into a frog right around Valentine’s Day? Whatever. He had issues anyway. Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be a total bust though. This year, why not get the girls together for a girls’ night in? Even if you’re not single, a girls’ night around Valentine’s Day can be so much fun.
Families and homes have a tendency to build up trash. That’s simply the nature of a bunch of people living in a place together. Things build up and people move through lots of products and materials. By nature, we tend to be a pretty wasteful species. However, you can simultaneously make your home a neater and reduce the amount of waste that you and your family produce by getting organized and working together. Here are some different ways that you can organize the trash your home produces to be more efficient and less of the filthy animals you know you are!

"Pictures or it never happened!"
We have been long time fans of GoPro...even from the early days. Now, GoPro is even cooler than ever, and with the new APP QuikStories, we're enjoying our memories with just a touch of a button.
My GoPro has been with me through so much. Shark Cage Diving, Bungee Jumping, Snowboarding, Fishing...it's been all across the states, in New Zealand, Australia, Haiti, and Iceland. I've had it for years, and it has never failed me. It is so awesome to have all these pictures and videos of my favorite memories, when usually I wouldn't have much proof of it before. After all the love my GoPro has given me, it was time to upgrade to another one...but only because of the awesome new features they keep coming out with.
My boyfriend, B, is a Fisherman...like a really passionate Fisherman. He does tournaments, is in a fishing club, and belongs to Bassmaster. To say he loves it, would be a total understatement. You would think that Christmas and birthday gift ideas come easy for me then...just get some fishing gear, right? But oh my goodness, have you ever walked into Bass Pro and looked around going, "what the heck do I get?!" There are so many products, and sometimes it can be super stressful trying to wade through it all.
